THE LADY GENERALS SOCCER TEAM ROLLED THROUGH DISTRICT PLAY GOING UNDEFEATED ALONG THE WAY TO THE POSTSEASON. So, what will they do for an encore? District Coach of the Year Saul Zamora will need to replace some key athletes — including the Offensive, Defensive and Newcomer of the Year — with a loaded senior class that has tons of experience. It will be a team-effort in 2023 led by first-team, all-district returners Melanie Cruz and Jasmin Garza on offense and second teamer Lupita Hernandez on defense. Diana Vega, Zamar Covarrubias, Diana Tabora and Estrella Arriazola could have breakout seasons on offense to lead the Generals to another district title over the likes of district-mate Aldine.
