Strawberry Bread from the Lilley Farm 1½ cups flour

½ tsp. soda 1 cup sugar

½ tsp. salt

½ cup chopped nuts

1 tsp. orange extract 2 eggs, well beaten

1½ cups chopped strawberries

2 ⁄ 3 cup oil Sift dry ingredients into a large bowl. Mix the remaining ingredients and add to dry ingredients. Mix only until dry ingredients are moist—DO NOT OVERMIX. Pour into a 9 x 5 loaf pan and bake about 60 minutes in a 350-degree oven. Also makes about 3 mini loaves.

Pineapple Pudding from Virginia Griffin 1 stick oleo (margarine) 5 slices fresh bread, crumbled

2 beaten eggs ½ cup sugar 1 can undrained pineapple Melt oleo and dribble over bread crumbs. Toss together.

Mix eggs, sugar and pineapple. Pour over crumbs and mix lightly. Bake at 350 degrees 20–25 minutes or until the top starts to brown.
