The Process Manual
AWPC font Part of a font collection provided free of charge to Walsworth customers for use on their yearbook pages. You may use as many AWPC fonts as you choose, and the fonts do not have to be submitted with your page files. Backup The act of saving some or all of the information on a computer system to tape or disk for safekeeping. Baseline The imaginary line on which letters in a line of text rest. Binding Joining the assembled pages of a printed piece together. Bitmap An image that is described by pixels. The pixels of an image are assembled in a binary bitmap, or grid, which assigns each pixel a location on an X-Y axis and a bit depth of color. Black and white Items in a single color (black), as opposed to full color. Bleed bars Gray bars found at the edges of Walsworth’s templates and Designer Series layouts to help you determine how far to extend a bleeding element off the page. You should always draw bleeding elements to the outside edge of the bleed bar. Bleed Extending a page element outside the edge of the page so the item appears to run off the edge of the page. BMP The extension that identifies a bitmap image. See also bitmap. Body copy Refers to the text of the main story. Body fonts Typefaces that can be used for body copy throughout your yearbook. Body fonts are usually plainer and less decorative than display fonts. Bold A name given to a type style that is thicker and heavier than the text type used. Often used for emphasis. This is an example of bold text. Book In InDesign, a master document containing references to all documents used to determine which marked names to include in the index.
