CBA Barristers Big Band is founded. ƶƷƷƷ In December 2004, one of the largest earthquakes ever recorded (approx. 9.3 magnitude) creates a tsunami that devastates South Asia, killing thousands. ƶƷƷ

Almost 3,000 people are killed in suicide attacks at the World Trade Center in New York City, the Pentagon, and in rural Pennsylvania. The attack launches the global War on Terrorism. Justice Joy V. Cunningham becomes the first African American Woman to serve as CBA President. ƶƷƷ Barack Obama is elected president. ƶƷƷ

Pro Bono Week In 2005 CBA President Justice Michael B. Hyman and The Chicago Bar Foundation held the first Pro Bono Week. Pro Bono Week is now a national celebration.

Twitter sends its first tweet.

Anita Alvarez becomes the first Hispanic woman and first sitting Cook County State's Attorney to serve as CBA President. ƶƷƷ
