NEWSTEAD 5K

Join Achieve’s annual Newstead 5K on September 30th and support education in a fun-filled event. This 21st-year race welcomes runners and walkers of all ages to South Orange’s Newstead neighborhood. Enjoy the 5K course starting at the South Mountain Annex, with chip timing available for those who want to track their progress. Medals will be awarded to finishers in each age division, and participants will receive the iconic Newstead 5K tee-shirt. New this year is the Achieve Team Challenge. Create a team and compete to raise the most funds for the Achieve Foundation. Donations of $100 or more earn a race registration fee refund. Kids under 4 can join the “Toddler Dash,” followed by the 1/2 mile Kid’s Fun Run. Register early for the discounted rate of $30 (+ $3.75 signup fee) before September 16th. Strollers are welcome, and a virtual option is available. Volunteers are also needed, so contact newstead5K@achievefoundation.org to get involved. Local businesses and families are encouraged to sponsor the Newstead 5K, gaining exposure on race t-shirts, Achieve’s website, and social media. Sponsorship opportunities range from $150 to $1,350. By participating in the Newstead 5K, you’ll support Achieve’s initiatives for high-quality education: including the volunteer tutor program, educator grants, and support for the arts and STEAM education.
