On Sunday, September 18, 2022 at the South Orange Performing Arts Center (SOPAC) an exciting new ministry was birthed. Thrive Church was launched in front of 200+ supporters with special guests from Grammy award winning Christian band Maverick City Music, Laila Oliviera and Nate Diaz. Founding Pastors Kobie and Melissa Morgan introduced the area to a refreshing multicultural ministry committed to helping people, families, and communities thrive in our broken and divided world. One year later, the vision continues with God’s grace and power. A diverse and relational community of survivors, strivers, and thrivers, “Thrive Nation” believes that we can all flourish through adversity with God and healthy supports. According to Co-Founding Pastor Melissa Morgan, Thrive Church has a courageous calling to heal generational brokenness and rebuild cultural bridges as well. Great things are in store for Thrive. Under the pastoral leadership of international ministry leader Dr. Tony Evans and his Kingdom Agenda Pastors network, Thrive Church is destined to continue to make an impact locally and globally in Israel, Africa, South America, and India. A native of the Maryland/DC area and a former NBA scout for the New York Knicks and Chicago Bulls, “Coach K” can be heard weekly on The Wellness Wednesdays segment on Star 99.1FM and on 570AM/The Mission. Services are held in-person on Sundays @ 11AM, with Children’s Church @ 10AM.
