BOOK RELEASE Local children’s book author, Steve Ciabattoni, tackles high anxiety with a touch of humor in his debut book “Finch’s First Flight: How One Little Bird Overcame Fear of Flying” (available now from Archway Publishing). The story follows Finch, a nervous bird afraid to fly, who meets a young boy at the airport, sharing the same fear. Together, they overcome their anxieties, experiencing incredible sights and soaring higher than ever before. Ciabattoni, a South Orange resident, believes everyone, especially children, faces fears and anxieties such as flying or encountering spiders. Drawing from his own struggles with travel anxiety, he hopes this sweet and lighthearted story will reassure kids that it’s alright to feel anxious, seek help, and be brave enough to try new things. Previously working as a music journalist, teacher, and digital producer in New York City, Ciabattoni ventured into writing books. “Finch’s First Flight” is available through various online retailers and can also be found at the South Orange Public Library. Additionally, Ciabattoni left copies of the book at local lending libraries in South Orange and Maplewood.
