SOMA Living March 2024
Yoni Kreger, YK Salon - Patricia came in all smiles and ready for her glam squad to take over! With beautiful dark brown hair that had become overly oxidized, the YK team sought to rebalance the tone by bringing it closer to her natural color. Yoni cooled down the color slightly by creating a low lighting effect, which allows a softer growout while creating depth. With the color perfected, Terrell began the styling process. Though we love a curly girl, we decided to give Patricia a different look for her photoshoot. Using proper products every step of the way to retain the health of the hair, Terrell carefully blow-dried and flat ironed the hair, sealing the cuticle shut to eliminate any frizz. To finish it off, Terrell lightly applied a serum for shine and a spritz of hairspray so Patricia can be photoshoot ready for days to come!
Lee Seidenberg Photography - Patricia initially felt nervous about being in front of the camera, but her fear quickly dissipated. We chose a brown paper backdrop to complement the brown leather jacket and used two lights – one main and one kicker. Looking to inject some energy into the poses, we got Patricia to dance and captured her in motion. Transitioning to the blue top and painted blue jeans, we experimented with a couple of backdrops: a reflective insulation board sourced from Home Depot and a black V-flat, which has a nice chalky texture. Lastly, for the tan dress, we positioned Patricia in front of a window flooded with strong morning light to backlight her.
