MEET THE MERCHANT MICHELE SPINAK

Meet Michele Spinak, the creative force behind MI Shell Jewelry, a unique handmade shell jewelry business based in SOMA. Michele’s journey to becoming a jewelry designer was inspired by her desire to make beautiful jewelry accessible to all, especially those with physical challenges like her mother who suffers from arthritis.

With a background in television production, Michele seamlessly transitioned her skills into crafting unique jewelry pieces that reflect her passion and dedication.

“I wanted to bring shell jewelry to SOMA in a modern way, making it accessible with magnetic clasps,” Michele explains. “I don’t want people to struggle like my mother did, so I designed my pieces to be wearable for everyone.”

In addition to selling her designs at her store front, Michele’s work is also featured at local boutiques and tourist destinations.
