Meet Megan Clement, the new Program and Volunteer Coordinator for the SOMA Community Coalition on Race! The board and staff enthusiastically welcome Megan to this role. Megan graduated from Seton Hall University with a bachelor’s degree in political science and a minor in Africana Studies, where she gained a deep understanding of social dynamics and political systems.

Megan plays a crucial role in supporting program growth and development, volunteer recruitment, event planning, and community outreach as an essential team member. Those interested in volunteering with the Community Coalition on Race can join our committees to meet new people, engage in community life, and utilize their talents to support stable integration. Committed to social justice and passionate about racial inclusion and diversity, Megan dedicates herself to creating a more equitable world for all. Having spent her early years in Maplewood and her college years in South Orange, Megan is well-acquainted with our towns’ enduring dedication to diversity and equity. During her college studies, Megan researched local senior citizen census data. She brings experience in events coordination, program assistance, and grassroots organizing to her new position.

Nancy Gagnier, Executive Director of the South Orange/ Maplewood Community Coalition on Race, develops pro-integrative strategies to support racial equity and inclusion.
