SOMA Living February 2023
There’s something about talking to a couple in their late thirties who met and became high school sweethearts that is entertaining. They finish each other’s sentences, swap knowing glances, and have the kind of snappy banter that only comes from being together for so many years. The couple mentioned their friend, Alex, who in high school wrote a little ditty about them. He used to sing, “It’s the Ryan and Tiffany show, doot!” Tiffany and Ryan have two boys, Vann and Harris. Ryan and Tiffany bought their first house in South Orange on Meeker Street. They laughed, “We bought the smallest house in South Orange.” They made some renovations and, once they had their first child, quickly outgrew the home. Sometime during the pandemic - their mutual childhood friend, Brian, came over for dinner and suggested they buy the house where he grew up in Maplewood. Tiffany elaborated, “Growing up, Brian was one of seven kids and the house was always full of kids and their friends. The house was well loved and lived in but was definitely in need of some TLC.” Tiffany and Ryan bought the house and spent a full year remodeling to make it their own. While Ryan is the general manager of General Plumbing Supply he laughed, “I’m not handy. I have a childhood friend from Maplewood who is a pilot but also extremely handy who helped us with all of the remodeling.” In keeping with the tradition of the house, Tiffany and Ryan love entertaining. Most weekends, you can find their house filled with family and friends. They also love bumping around town to all of their favorite spots both old and new.
