Downtown Syracuse

Situated adjacent to Onondaga Lake, Syracuse is considered the geographic center of New York State. It’s home to the Erie Canal Museum, which traces the history and impact of the waterway through hands on displays, interactive exhibits and original artifacts, including a full-size canal boat. The museum was founded in 1962 and is housed in the 1850 Weighlock Building. Continue your cultural exploration with a visit to the Everson Museum of Art.
