Teamwork Makes It All Work

All great teams share a common quality, the ability to act as one. Teamwork allows individuals with different talents and skills to achieve greatness as a unit. A team that understands how to work together will transform ordinary athletes into extraordinary champions. I am extremely blessed to have great teammates in Lamar CISD. Not only do I have a great team in the Athletic Office, but my teammates across departments in the District provide unique skills, resources, and support in everything we do. My teammates help me through the challenges, and they play an active role in all our achievements. As we roll out our spring sports, I see great teamwork on every campus and in every sport. True success takes every athlete working together including the ones who are front and center, and the students who are cheering from the bench. It takes both athletes to win. In this edition, you’ll see evidence of our student athletes excelling in the classroom including our Academic

All-State Award winners. You can also see some of our student athletes who will be pursuing higher education with the help of athletics. We believe the influence of teamwork never ends and it’s evident in every accomplishment. As we begin to think about wrapping up the school year, I want to congratulate the Lamar CISD student athletes who will walk across the stage and receive their diplomas this May. I also want to thank the multitude of individuals who displayed exemplary teamwork to get them to this point. We all know that tomorrow’s leaders are built in today’s locker rooms, and the world better be ready for the leaders from the Class of 2023. They are bound for greatness. Come out and see some of these athletes on the ball fields, tracks, tennis courts and golf courses this spring. Keep your eyes open for the extraordinary teamwork that makes Lamar CISD great!
