COMMUNITY SERVICE AWARD

ASHLEY AND JEFF DO CARMO BROWN OAKS FLOORING

The NWFA Community Service Award recognizes members who use their skills to make a difference in their communities. This year’s recipient, Brown Oaks Flooring, has shown incredible dedication to giving back.

Brown Oaks Flooring of Mount Juliet, Tennessee, participated in a project that embodies the spirit of service, working with Operation Song, a group that helps veterans heal through music. Partnering with The Design Network’s Hometown Heroes, the Brown Oaks Flooring team donated their labor to install a new hardwood floor for their space.

VANGUARD AWARD

STEVEN SKUTELSKY PID FLOORS

The Vanguard Industry Leadership Award recognizes a member of NWFA who has made significant contributions to the NWFA and wood flooring industry through volunteerism, service, and leadership. Steven Skutelsky, managing partner at PID Floors in New York, has done exactly that. Skutelsky’s passion for real wood flooring goes beyond selling products – he is helping shape the way the next generation of architects and designers think about wood. Through his outreach efforts, he has introduced hundreds of new advocates to the industry. He has spearheaded coursework in the greater New York market, ensuring that architects understand the beauty and long-term value of real wood flooring. By educating those who specify materials for future projects, Skutelsky is strengthening the industry from the ground up.
