Creating a Healing Environment Before the hospital doors ever opened to the public, painstaking effort went into planning every last detail of the hospital’s environment. It was of utmost importance to create an environ ment that allows patients to heal. Mercy Gilbert leadership invested in technologies that maximize patient privacy and increase proper medication disbursement. Interiors were designed to look and feel soothing, and a guest bed was added to each of the hospital’s eighty-eight private rooms, allowing a loved one to stay with the patient at all times. Every Mercy Gilbert employee was selected based on his or her ability to contrib ute to a healing environment.All employees went through extensive training to embed the values of Radical Loving Care, as taught by Erie Chapman, into their day-to-day decisions. A mix of hospital services was developed to best fit the needs of the Gilbert community, with every intention of growing and adding services as the community’s needs evolve. In keeping with the CHW mission to provide quality and compassionate care within the system’s core values of Dignity, Collaboration, Justice, Stewardship, and Excellence, and with the Sisters of Mercy order’s commitment to healing, Mercy Gilbert Medical Center leader ship is dedicated to doing all they can to foster wellness of body, mind and spirit.

A state-of-the-art Radiology Department, fea turing Web-based PACS; digital mammography; 64-slice CT scanner; full-body MRI; digital X-ray machine; cardiac nuclear medicine; diagnostic and therapeutic interventional procedures; vascu lar procedures; high-resolution ultrasound, and whole-body bone density studies Heart Center , providing state-of-the-art cardiac ultrasound digital imaging, high-quality electrocar diograms and the most advanced body plethys mography available, and a state-of-the-art digital angiography suite Family Birthing Center, consisting of six private Labor, Delivery, and Recovery suites, 16 private couplet care rooms, two Cesarean section suites with adjacent recovery room, and nursery.The nursery includes four Special Care beds for infants needing extra care and support. Laboratory, performing all emergency testing throughout the hospital Other vital services, such as outpatient ser vices, Perioperative Care, Endoscopy services, Rehabilitation, Health Information Management, Case Management, Clinical Social Work, Palliative Care, and Spiritual Care.
