k Dedication of new Mercy Gilbert Medical Center Topping Out: A tradition in the construction industry is to celebrate the placement of the last beam in the frame of the building. Mercy Gilbert did things slightly differently. In July 2005, they topped out the building with a dome-raising event, inviting local leadership to sign the dome that would be placed atop the hospital—a literal topping off of the building.
