Escapees May-June 2023
“These events have helped to give back to local communities and create lifelong friends, all in the effort of fostering Joe and Kay’s founding principles and ensuring the continuation of the Escapees community for years to come.”
Club Products For those of you who have been to some of the larger Escapees and Xscapers gatherings this year, you may have noticed we’ve had more club products available and with more fun and creative designs than in the past. Well, that is because we have been deliber-
ately working our way up to introducing an entire new line of products. These newer items you have previously seen are only a taste of what you can expect to see as we fi ll our new products building at Escapees HQ and populate our online store. This will be a major focus following our return from Escapade, which by now has already happened. (See what I mean, it’s confusing). Of course, we would love to hear your feedback and suggestions as to what you would like to see in the Escapees and Xscapers products, so you can proudly support what we feel is among the best of RVing communities in the world. Live Long, and Prosper There is always so much more going on behind the scenes at the desks of Escapees HQ, and from the road in our RVs, that this article could never cover it all. And, of course, we would never bore you with all the other business memos and updates such as switching insurance carriers, roof repairs, equipment purchases, operating procedures changes, and so on. The goal of this article was really to give a brief glimpse into what’s going on with Escapees RV Club. And, as such, I encour age you to stay up to date by reading the “Member’s Section” of every magazine issue, ensuring you are signed up for Escapees Club News and Member News newsletters and frequently visit the Escapees websites, including your Member Dashboard. By now, spring is in full swing, and summer is quickly approaching. Many of you have already begun your busy travel season and charted your path, while others are just now dusting off their maps (or more likely charging their phones), to chase new adventures and see new horizons. Regardless of where you are in your seasonal travels, we wish all a safe journey. (And to future Travis, you probably need to fold clothes.)
Xscapers On March 8, 2023, Xscapers celebrated its eighth anniversary! It’s hard to believe that it has already been eight years since the Xscapers was founded at the 55th Escapade in Tucson, Arizona. Created as an RV lifestyle group within Escapees RV Club, inspired by its
original roots and catering to the support and community particularly needed for working-age RVers. While this lifestyle group is all part of the same Escapees member ship, those who have self-selected to be considered as Xscapers now equate to 22% of the overall club’s membership! That is approximately 15 thousand Xscap ers within the community as of March 8. And this year, over 350 are registered for Escapade, which is a stag gering new record! Over the years, Xscapers has held dozens of events known as Convergences. These events have helped to give back to local communities and create lifelong friends, all in the effort of fostering Joe and Kay’s founding principles and ensuring the continuation of the Escapees community for years to come. If you are not familiar with Xscapers, we encourage you to learn more, at xscapers.com. (Speaking of which, here is a little secret: We are planning a major redesign of the website and will make several improvements to the information you will fi nd there.) So, if you consider yourself to be an Xscaper, just remember, all you have do is check the box in your “Member Dashboard.” There are no separate dues and no age or work requirements. If you feel like you belong here and enjoy the lifestyle experience that Xscapers provides and supports, you are welcome to be a part of our group!
