A LANGE & SOHNE MINUTE REPEATER German watch brand A Lange & Sohne wows the watch-collecting community this year with its fi rst highly classical looking Richard Lange Minute Repeater. Crafted in platinum with a white-enamel and white-gold dial, the watch chimes the hours, quarter-hours and minutes. It is powered by a new hand-wound mechanical movement with 191 individually hand- fi nished pieces that work together seamlessly. The watch even skips the pause found in most minute repeaters that comes between the hour and minute strike when there is no quarter-hour double-strike tone. Just 50 pieces will be made. ASTRONEF The Louis Moinet Astronef watch, three years in the research and development stages, takes inspiration from the brand’s Space Revolution, but with a more de fi ned triple-level caliber that boasts two high speed tourbillons rotating in opposite directions and on di ff erent levels, to compensate for the e ff ects of gravity when the watch is in certain positions on the wrist. The two tourbillon escapements cross paths every three minutes, 20 seconds — making for a delightful dance on the wrist, held together with the hands in a tower structure. In total, six di ff erent elements are constantly in motion. The new movement consists of 471 parts. The watch is crafted in sapphire crystal and 18-karat gold.
