The Cougars Could Be a Sleeper for District 14-6A Title Top of the Food Chain

being named the 14-6A Newcomer of the Year. The reigning District Offensive MVP Ke’Lyn Washom (Sr. WR) is top-notch weapon, opposite of first-teamer Malachi Augustus (Jr. WR). In terms of returning talent on defense, look no further than senior linebacker Javar Thomas (first-team), who will soon be a collegiate baller. Additionally, fellow first-team selection Armad Bailey (Sr. DB) is back to shore up the secondary. Could 2024 be the year that Nimitz finally secures the coveted district championship?

WITH COACH CORNELIUS HARMON AT THE HELM, NIMITZ HAS GRADUALLY BECOME A GENUINE CONTENDER WITHIN DISTRICT 14-6A, DESPITE FACING SOME TOUGH COMPETITION SUCH AS WESTFIELD, DEKANEY AND SPRING ON A YEARLY BASIS. After capping off last fall with a record of 8-3 and a trip to the postseason, the Cougars will expect to keep trending upward.
