Iris ensata 'Variegata' is an excellent variegated form of iris with bluish green foliage that has a white streak up the center of the leaves. The flowers are fragrant, lavender light blue and borne on short stems just above the foliage. Height is about 22". These Iris prefer full sun in very well-drained soils. Do not plant too deeply. Very attractive and problem free. 30" Zones 4-9 JUN

An excellent wildflower for the sunny border. A nice bundle of narrow leaves bolt to expose long, thick bottlebrush-like flower spikes. Great for cut flowers! Full sun to light shade. Almost any type of soil, except those that would be soggy in winter. Native. 3-4' Zones 3-9 JUN

An excellent plant for the front of the border or as a ground cover. Its scalloped green leaves are covered with a soft pubescence. The plant forms a nice, neat mound which can grow to 24" across. Fine textured, billowy sprays of chartreuse – yellow blooms are sprayed over a cushion like plant starting in May. Produces good cut flowers that can also be dried for floral arrangements. Cutting produces more blooms into August. Sun to partial shade in cool, moist soil. 12-18"x2' Zones 4-7 JUN
