“Partnering with Your Business to Grow Business” The City of Whitesboro, Texas is committed to the promotion and retention of high quality development within the City Limits and the North Texas Region. The Economic Development Team is led by the Type A Whitesboro Industrial Development Board and the Type B Whitesboro Economic Development Board of Directors along with the City Council to offer incentives and opportunities for business recruitment, retention, and expansion. The Council, Type A, and Type B Boards will, on a case by case basis, consider providing incentives and/or tax abatements to aid in the stimulation of economic development in Whitesboro. The Economic Development Team has the ability to enter into incentive agreements with landowners on projects demonstrating an investment in buildings, fixed assets, job creation, or an increase in the City sales tax revenues. Whitesboro sits at the intersection of busy U.S. HWY 82 and U.S. RTE 377 with traffic counts estimated upwards of 30k daily trips. Our trade area extends across the Red River in to Oklahoma and visitors from all over North Central Texas experience Whitesboro on their way to nearby Lake Texoma, Lake Ray Roberts, and Hagerman Wildlife Refuge. New home construction permits have increased over 100% from Fiscal Year 2016 and we continue to see plans for new buildable lots within our city limits and in surrounding areas.
