During spring and fall bird migration, thousands of American White Pelicans and dozens of different shorebird species stop at the Refuge to refuel along their journeys. Perhaps you will see a secretive Least Bittern or Little Blue Heron wading through the marshes during summer, or an American Bald Eagle soaring over head in search of food during winter or spring.
