DESPITE HAVING SOMEWHAT OF A DOWN-SEASON COMPARED TO THE SUCCESS SEEN IN YEARS PAST, ‘SADER NATION STILL FOUND WAYS TO SHINE IN THE BIG MOMENTS. Under the direction of coach Bill Honeck ‘88, the Crusaders advanced to the TAPPS-6A Area Round, where they were narrowly defeated by state semifinalist Prestonwood Christian. Even though the season didn’t go quite the way they expected, that doesn’t mean this past Winter was without its bright spots. Lamar-signee Jace Jeffries earned second-team, all state honors for his considerable efforts on the court, while fellow seniors Benjamin Fears and Reece Cutrer were leaders in their own right. Numerous players will be graduating prior to next season, so it will be up to incoming juniors, Loukas Naum and Jacob Rosner, to take over as the faces of the program.
