WORKING FROM A NEW SPREAD Note: To do all exercises, the Walsworth Enhancements from Support Download must be installed on each workstation, and the Using InDesign Activities folder must be copied to your desktop from Support Download. Practice using a new spread, so the tools become second nature and you spend your time thinking about the design. 1. Open a new spread by clicking the New Spread button on the Control Center. 2. Modify the page range to pages 64-65. 3. Select Black and White for page 64, Four Color for page 65, and click Apply Color Information. 4. When prompted to save, click Cancel. 5. With your file open, practice using the Zoom tools and keyboard shortcuts to navigateyour page. See Lesson 2, Working with InDesign. 6. Change folio text on an A-Parent Page. See the Lesson 4 exercise, Working with MasterPages. 7. Go back to the Modify Page Range dialog and change the page range. Remember that if you change yourpage range, you must also manually change your file name. You have been through the basics. Now, put them all together and go through the entire process by creating a page from beginning to end using InDesign and the Walsworth Enhancements. 1. Starting with a new template, demonstrate and create the yearbook page as shown. The following items will be used in production of the page: { Color and Swatches { Folio on the Parent Pages { Express Libraries { Shapes and text { Placeholder text { Aligning objects { Ruler Guides { Anchor points and XY coordinates { Columns and rows 2. Click File > Save As > AllTogether.indd and save it to the Using InDesign > Lesson 4 folder on your desktop.
