Dan L. Brown, who became general manager/CEO in 1991, agreed, but he opted to fine-tune the shade of orange. “We were using a putrid
pumpkin orange shade that wasn’t, in my opinion, very attractive,” he recalls. Brown also didn’t like the inconsistency of orange colors across the CREC fleet, which he noticed whenever he walked through the warehouse truck bays. He enlisted former communications manager Mary Jane Clark to help him find the perfect shade of orange
