THE ACCOLADES Girls Jyusef Larry

The Memorial Mustangs girls basketball team made school history, reaching their first-ever Regional Tournament after winning their back-to-back district championship. To the victors go the spoils. Along the way, Riley McCloskey surpassed 1,500 career points and junior Nicki Polocheck was named the co-MVP of the district. What a year it was for the ‘Stangs as they took their fan base on a playoff ride. On the boys’ side, the Memorial Mustangs reached the postseason after capturing the fourth spot in the District 17-6A race. Memorial split their neighborhood-battle with Stratford and wrapped up their season with a Bi District loss to Bellaire.
