TJ performing groups across all divisions of the school. The performing arts is a significant component of the TJ mission statement, and this concert will showcase the success and accomplishments of TJ graduates and current students in vocal and instrumental music. The hope is that this concert will draw the entire school community together. “Some of our graduates haven’t been back to campus since our expansion or during the pandemic, so this celebration gives them a chance to reconnect with old friends and teachers, witness the growth of the school community and see the new facilities. Many of our alumni parents will have the opportunity to re-connect with other former parents and celebrate their connections made through Thomas Jefferson.” The school is proud of its time-tested program and the education it has provided to hundreds of students. “We have 100% college placement annually,” said McDonald. “At Thomas Jefferson, students explore their passions and reach their full potential through a liberal arts
education. Our graduates regularly receive impressive admissions and merit scholarship offers at a wide variety of colleges and universities, including some of the most prestigious schools in the country and are prepared for success at any school or in any program they select.” As an independent school, Thomas Jefferson is funded entirely through tuition and philanthropy and doesn’t receive any federal, state or local tax dollars. A generous gift of $15 million from Debra and David Humphreys this summer allowed the school to reset the tuition level for all grade levels to $11,000. “The gift makes our world-class academic program accessible to even more children in our area and will allow us to continue to recruit the best faculty and provide the best educational resources,” McDonald explained. “We are excited to be celebrating 30 years of educational excellence, and this legacy fund gift means we can impact more children in the coming decades.” The school launched a special website at www.tjeffschool.org/30, where everyone can learn more about its celebration and the upcoming events.
