Aubree & Adrian

F or over 21 years, sisters Aubree Templeman and Adrian Petticrew have worked together as owners of Oasis Day Spa. Adrian explained, “In our youth, Aubree and I could be described as the best of friends and the worst of enemies. Being only 18 months apart in age, we were very close, sharing almost everything: car, friends, sports and clothes. This led to fig ts, but when it came down to it, we always had each other’s backs. “Today, we’re great friends. We love spending time with each other’s families. We got married 6 months apart, have kids the same ages and now live just around the corner from each other. It has been so much fun going through the diff erent stages of life together. “As we have gotten older, we’ve learned to lean on each other’s strengths. Aubree is calm and level-headed. She sees everything very black and white. I am a dreamer and a creative. I tend to see things more in the gray. Aubree keeps me grounded, and I like to think I help her think outside of the box.

“Aubree is very business-minded and enjoys the inner workings of the salon and spa. I love the people, working with our team and interacting with the guests. We feel it is crucial when working with family to rely on each other’s strengths and trusting each other’s passions and doing what is best for the business, your partner and the team.”

Heather & Cheyenne

S isters Heather Coleman and Cheyenne Noone work together at The Babe Cave, Heather’s boutique in Joplin. “Working with my sister is always a good time,” said Cheyenne. “Jamming out to music is how we get motivated and have fun. Our day-to-day life at work consists of working hard to keep each other motivated. My sister can get sidetracked, so I’m the one who keeps us going. She motivates me to try new things in the business. I’m so proud of my sister for fig ting for her dreams and becoming a boutique owner! Her drive to move up in this world is so inspiring! Heather added, “I’ve always played the mother role. We’ve always gotten along and been by each other’s side since day one. Our bond is unbreakable. She is my person. I go to her with everything.” “It’s true,” said Cheyenne. “Heather still makes sure I don’t go without anything; she spoils me. As adults, we have become best friends. When we aren’t working together, we are texting or calling each other. Our bond is one of the strongest bonds there is. We don’t have much family left, so we defini ely lean on each other.” “We support each other in every way possible. She is literally my better half,” said Heather. “The best part about working together,” said Cheyenne, “is knowing I get to work with my best friend every day, and know it’s always going to be a good time!”
