Think Fall, Y’all! The 56th Maple Leaf Festival is Coming Soon! It may still be hot outside, but the Carthage Chamber of Commerce and the Maple Leaf committee has planning well underway for the biggest fall event of the year in Carthage, Missouri. The theme for this year’s event is “Carthage at the Crossroads: Celebrating Route 66.”The theme was submitted by Carthage resident Sharon Frost. Ms. Frost’s theme was selected out of hundreds sent to the Chamber. Ben Nossaman from Mild Works, LLC Carthage was also a winner as Mr. Nossaman’s design was selected as the official artwork for the 2022 Maple Leaf Festival. This year’s festival brings back the old tradition of the Maple Leaf Car Show encompassing the square for the annual cruise-in Friday night, along with the Saturday morning parade’s annual march around the square. Carthage is getting geared up for back to school with shops displaying their finest clothes, accessories and more to make each student’s first day a success. Sales will happen all month long in Carthage. Shop local, shop Carthage with many of our unique great shops! Marian Days is back in Carthage the first week of August. After taking a two-year hiatus due to COVID-19 restrictions, this long-awaited event is returning. Organizers of this event believe this could be the biggest turnout yet and are excited this is returning to the community. Food Truck Friday is still going strong with its monthly event in Carthage Central Park August 12. As always, many food trucks, vendors, music and more will be in full swing as there will only be two more left for the year, September 9 and October 14.
