SOMA Living September 2025

As a fellow mom, I know grocery shopping can feel overwhelming, especially while juggling a list, a cart, and maybe toddlers. However, grocery shopping lays the groundwork for making healthy choices every day. It’s not just a chore; it sets the stage for breakfast, balanced snacks, and quick meals. What you put in your cart directly influences what you serve for dinner, pack in your kid’s lunch, and put on your plate. An intentional shopping trip can be a game-changer. Here’s the secret: prioritize yourself on your grocery list. I know it sounds novel since we often put everyone else first, but a mom running on empty cannot pour from a depleted cup. Your health forms the foundation of your family’s well-being. During back-to-school season, lean into convenient, nutrition-packed choices. Consider salad kits, frozen veggies, pre-chopped blends, lean deli meat, frozen fish, pre-marinated proteins, and canned beans as healthy shortcuts for chaotic schedules. Apply this to your needs. Add your preferred items for a quick lunch that requires no cooking. Buy a smoothie mix or quality granola for a fast, nutritious breakfast. Choosing items that support your energy and health HEALTH & WELLNESS

isn’t selfish; it benefits everyone around you. When you care for yourself, you can show up as your best self. Next time you shop, prioritize yourself, even with just one or two items. It can make a world of difference. Need a streamlined approach to grocery shopping or meal planning? Scan the QR code for my guide to groceries.
