At just 11 years old, Wilder Chatterson has already made a name for himself in the local music scene. A sixth grader at Roosevelt Middle School, Wilder plays the drums and violin while leading his family punk band, The Dot Tones. “I love learning new songs and playing beats,” he shares, highlight ing the joy of regular practice and live performances. Wilder’s journey into music began at home. “My Dad inspired me to play. We always had instruments around, and during COVID, we learned songs together,” he recalls. He brings his passion to life under the guidance of his teacher, David Long worth, who energizes him on the drums. “He really cooks on the drums and has been very supportive,” Wilder notes, a tes tament to the strong mentorship he receives.

Despite his busy music schedule, Wilder explores new hori zons. “I recently started learning guitar and dream of play ing it while singing. I also want to dive into synth because of the amazing sounds it produces,” he says with excitement. In addition to his musical endeavors, Wilder enjoys creat ing art, collecting records, and playing Roblox. He thrives in a creative family environment, with his parents and older brother Jax supporting him in their band, which transforms their dining room into a lively music studio. “Performing at Maplewood Porchfest this summer will be a blast!” he exclaims, embodying enthusiasm. Wilder Chatter son represents the vibrant spirit of youth, proving music truly is a family affair.
