Mia Johmann, a 16-year-old junior at Mont clair Kimberley Academy, shines as this month’s featured athlete for her exceptional talent in synchronized figure skating. Com peting since she was six, Mia has embraced the sport, saying, “Synchronized skating has been an amazing journey. I love the team work and artistry involved.” Mia’s impressive achievements reflect her dedication. She proudly represents Team USA and holds the title of US Figure Skating Gold Medalist. In 2023, she and her team

secured the National Champions title in Peoria, IL, and earned a bronze medal at the Junior World Championships in Angers, France. “Winning with my team feels incredible,” Mia shares. “We work so hard, and it shows when we compete.” Outside of skating, Mia balances academics and hobbies. She maintains the honor roll and enjoys math, stating, “Math is my favorite subject because I love solving problems.” When she isn’t training, Mia likes to hang out with friends, bake, and watch movies. Mia credits her coach, Pam May, for her motivation. “Pam inspires us to skate like champions and push our limits,” she explains. “Her belief in our potential drives us to strive for our best every day.” With her talent and determination, Mia Johmann exemplifies what it means to be a student-athlete.
