HOME DESIGN “Oh my gosh! That’s so fabulous!” I exclaimed. “Isn’t it great? I love this. Do you think we can do something like this for my bathroom?” asked my client. “Absolutely. It will require a lot of planning and a lot of math, but sure, this would be awesome to do,” I replied. I was standing in the only full bathroom of my client’s house, and she was showing me an inspiration picture for the design she wanted. It was a way to use bathroom tile that I had not seen or tried before, but it was incredible. The design was a total representation of my client—youthful, fun, energetic, and fresh. Fields of crisp white tiles perfectly divided by smaller green tiles. What I loved about this design, aside from the challenge, was that it was different, outside the box, yet in tune with the rest of the house. There are so many tiles to choose from nowadays—thousands of colors and shapes. Most people get choice overload, which hinders the decision-making process. Even with inspiration pictures, sifting through all the green tiles and sizes to find the perfect one is arduous. An experienced designer can bring your inspiration pictures to life and take them to the next level.
