ATHLETE OF THE MONTH SPONSORED BY BASS FAMILY CHIROPRACTIC Jayvin Irby is a Junior at New Jersey City University who also plays guard for the basketball team. Better known by his friends as “Jay” or “Irb”, he performs well both on the court and in the classroom. In 2021, Jay and the Knights won the NJAC championships. At the same time, Jay was recognized as an Academic All NJAC player. Jay excels in mathematics and is interested in becoming an entrepreneur. Much like his favorite NBA player, Lebron James, Jay is also eager to leverage his success to get involved with good works in his community. Jay appreciates all of his coaches at Patrick School who saw his potential for being a great student athlete. He is particularly grateful for Mr. Kim, his 2nd grade teacher at South Mountain Elementary School. Jay reflected, “He wrote me a personal note saying how proficient I was in Math and that he believed in me.” JAYVIN IRBY
