Georges Gawinowski trains Kinami Surable on the Kassine pulled by a Haflinger at Horse Progress Days 2025.
He told of a delegation from Mali who visited shops, business and farms. Wherever they went, the locals dropped everything to talk with them, explain how things worked and answer questions. “How can we help?” they asked. At the end of the visit, with tears in his eyes, Moses, a devout Muslim, asked Wayne to ask his people to “pray to your God for my country, my people, my family and for me.” That is how we achieve the healing of nations. Melvin Blank of White Horse Machine said that if it weren’t for Dale, HPD wouldn’t be what it is today. In 1994, HPD was a lot of English folks. Dale invited visitors and planted the seeds of good relationships. HPD had a purpose, to bring together draft-powered enthusiasts from all over the world. They would work together to bridge the gap between countries. People in the audience took advantage of the opportunity to talk with the foreign visitors and ask them questions. In all, it was a wonderful meeting.
