PRESTON EMERGENCY SERVICES F ounded in 1969, Preston Volunteer Emergency Services, Inc. (PVES) is a nonprofit organization providing emergency medical care as Preston EMS and responding to fires and accidents as Preston Fire Rescue. Not only do we provide life-saving treatment and transportation, and fire protection services, our greatest role in the community is to be compassionate listeners and helpers. PRESTON EMS Preston EMS, established in 1985, is staffed by Chief Brian Little, 6 full-time employees and 15 part-time employees. The agency operates two ambulanc es over roughly 60 square miles and responds to 700 calls per year within the Preston Peninsula, Pottsboro, and Locust communities.

EMS staff begin each day with station, vehicle and equipment checks, and stay busy throughout the day responding to calls, performing research, and continuing education studies to maintain certifications and licenses. The EMS station is staffed 24/7, with one EMT and one paramedic each day. The EMT performs basic life support techniques while the paramedic provides advanced life support measures. PRESTON FIRE RESCUE Preston Fire Rescue is comprised of 12 volunteers and is also led by Chief Brian Little. The agency responds to 400 fire and emergency medical calls each year and mobilizes two engines, one tanker, one brush truck, and one rescue squad vehicle. Most of volunteers are working individuals. They have families and full lives, in addition to being firefighters. We are

fortunate for their service and commitment to the community.

Preston firefighters undergo 1-2 monthly training sessions and may attend the Texas A&M University’s renowned annual firefighter training

camp, where they learn new techniques and tackle specific firefighting scenarios.
