The Mayors of Flint Part 1: Opening the Office January 2022 began a series written by Peter Hinterman that chronicled each of Flint ’s mayor’s throughout history, providing a short account of their professions, their lives and decisions they made during their tenures. Some were men/women of great deeds, some of great controversy. Some simply acted as placeholders in time. Each of them, however, chaired a city important to its country and citizens. Part 1 highlighted those in office from 1857-1865, including the city's first Mayor, Grant Decker.
