Clayoquot Wilderness Lodge, Hillside Family VANCOUVER ISLAND, CANADA
A beloved abode found in the Unesco Clayoquot Sound Biosphere Reserve, Clayoquot Wilderness Lodge is deliciously remote — so remote that it can only be reached by seaplane or boat. Following a refurbishment last year, the lodge reopened with some considered updates to its 25 tents. But these aren’t regular tents — king-size beds and wooden fl oors feature as standard here. The Hillside Family is made up of two adjoining tents covering a total of 1,238 sq ft. In one, you’ll fi nd a master bedroom with a king-size bed, lounge area with a sofa and desk, and a cast-iron heated stove; the other has two twin beds (which can be converted to a king) and the same lounge setup. Both tents have an en-suite bathroom with heated fl oors, double vanity and a deep bathtub, plus a private, outdoor cedar-clad shower. The shared deck has peaceful views of the lush rain forest. From $5,250 per night. Contact Sarah Cruse, general manager, reserve@clayoquotwildernesslodge.com, +1 250 266 0397, clayoquotwildernesslodge.com
