Welcome The 2018 edition of theTop 100 Suites ismore discerning, far-reaching and opulent than ever before. We have tracked down the new suites making their mark on the luxury hotel scene, we have rooted out the refurbished suites that have been notably elevated, and we have rounded up the old favorites that never disappoint. And here you have it: our definitive guide to the top accommodations on the planet, spread over illustrative categories such as historic, family and outdoors. Though every entry on the list has something special to offer, characterized by each hotel’s vision and locale, they all strive for excellence through their service, amenities and design. For our second-annual top cars rundown, we are tempting the motorheads among you with the most elegant and technologically advanced cars on the market. Each significantly different, but all offering something noteworthy to the driver, these automobiles are sure to get you behind the wheel and out on the open road stat. Elsewhere in this issue, we’ve curated a collection of the very best spirits in the world. These exceptional tipples are as stunning to behold as they are quaffable, and we hope they inspire a summer full of cocktail-making (make ours a Boulevardier!). For those who love the feel of the open seas (and to be honest, for those who don’t), our picks of the best cruise-ship suites on the water are sure to inspire your next big adventure. Alongside all the information and images you’ll need to choose your perfect suite, we’ve also selected the most awe-inspiring itineraries that these behemoth boats are undertaking in the next year. From an 85-day around-the-world trip aboard the Crystal Serenity to a 13-day tour of Asia during cherry-blossom season on the Silver Muse , these voyages have been curated to show the very best the world has to offer. If Hublot’s Big Bang Unico Golf watch, featured on p30, makes you reach for your clubs, our Hot List includes a whirlwind golf tour, which covers 14 rounds of golf at all of the British Open venues over the course of a week. And where better to show off your newly perfected stroke than at the longest and highest par-three hole in the world? This issue ends on a high — literally — overlooking the breathtaking Entabeni Safari Conservancy from the lofty heights of Hanglip Mountain, yards away from potential hole-in-one glory. MILLION AIR
Take off Welcome aboard and welcome to the world of Million Air! In today’s business world, we know how difficult it is to find a truly genuine point of difference from our competitors. Everybody is closely watching each other and copying their every move. Many companies are sourcing products from the same suppliers or offering similar services. The difference in price from one business to another is often minimal. As this sameness engulfs the commercial market, it becomes more important for our company to stand out from the pack. The secret in setting Million Air apart from our competition is providing our customers with a truly memorable experience when they do business with us. As a result, our customers will not only keep coming back to our business but, more importantly, they will also tell others. It’s the power of word-of-mouth marketing. Outstanding customer relations don't just happen. They are the result of careful planning and dedicated attention over time. Get to know your customers; find out what makes them tick. Then, when you see them again, you will be able to establish a little deeper relationship that will translate into future sales and a dedicated customer. The success or failure of our company depends on how well we rise to the challenge of meeting our customers’ needs. By anticipating a customer’s need in advance, we will be ahead of the game. Our view of how we serve our customers may be very different from the views and opinions of our customers. This is why we should take every opportunity to engage with them and ask how we are performing, even if we don’t like some of the answers. Making a memorable experience can be done in a variety of ways, but every method begins with a knowledge of what is important to the customer. Without this understanding all improvements we make will be based purely on guesswork. We must take the time to get in touch with our customer base and ask them what services they would like to see in the future. Million Air continues its unwavering pursuit in serving your every need. I invite you to email me personally on how we may improve our focus, so that we may remain worthy of your continued loyalty. Business or pleasure, we want your travels to be safe and memorable and your arrivals tailored specifically to you and your needs.
Keep ’em flying…

Capilano Suspension Bridge
Stanley Park
Boasting all the attractions of a metropolis but with a decidedly calmer and ultimately positive vibe, Vancouver, British Columbia, is one of the world’s top tourist destinations. Perhaps the most famous attraction of the city is Stanley Park. The 1,000-acre sanctuary in the middle of the city offers visitors sprawling views of the surrounding mountains and forests and the Pacific Ocean. Another outdoor attraction, VanDusen Botanical Garden, covers 55 acres and is home to 65 different species of birds. Switch from bird-watching to people-watching as you make your way to Robson Street, famed for the best shopping and dining in the area. After hitting the boutiques, visitors can then look forward to a gourmet meal. Known as a particularly international city, Vancouver is home to citizens from all corners of the world, and this is delightfully evident in the city’s many restaurants. Whether you’re in the mood for Japanese, French, Italian or a modern fusion of all three,
Robson Street will surely have a restaurant to enchant even the most discerning of palates. For those looking for a thrill, head for the Capilano Suspension Bridge Park. Hung 230ft aboveground, its namesake 450ft-long bridge was built in 1889 from hemp ropes and cedar planks. The now wire-cable bridge has been crossed by millions of visitors, and one look at the breathtaking forest scene below and it’s easy to see why. Continue the bird’s-eye view by taking an Alpine Lakes & Glaciers Tour with Harbour Air Seaplanes. The hour-long flight takes visitors from Vancouver Harbour and past Mount Mamquam and, during the summer months, the plane lands on a secret alpine lake whose crystal clear waters you can enjoy while having a picnic. The city has been decorated with an extensive list of awards, including Condé Nast Traveler ’s “Top City of the Americas,” and has been chosen as “The World’s Most Liveable City” eight times since 2002.

WHERE TO EAT The most celebrated restaurant in all of Tucson, The Grill at Hacienda Del Sol has won AAA Four Diamond Awards and countless editorial awards for its cuisine and mesmerizing 6,000-bottle wine list. The dishes, which utilize herbs from the Hacienda Del Sol hotel’s on-site garden, are enthralling and the perfect complement to the postcard-worthy mountain backdrop. 5501 N Hacienda Del Sol Road +1 520 529 3500 haciendadelsol.com WHERE TO FLY Located along the tarmac of Tucson International Airport, Million Air Tucson boasts the best private jet facilities in the Southwest. and kestrels, in a controlled but natural environment. Or if you’re looking to live out your childhood cowboy dreams, visit Old Tucson for a tour of some of the most famous Western TV and movie sets. Peruse memorabilia from classics such as Bonanza and Rio Bravo , or take in one of the Old West shows, featuring actual movie-industry stunt work. Be sure to take a trip to the Tucson Botanical Gardens, a lush 5.5-acre urban oasis. The gardens feature a seasonal live tropical butterfly exhibit, as well as monthly rotating art exhibits. (Quilt for a Cause: A Garden of Quilts is running until July 30, 2018.) Afterward, investigate the cosmos at Kitt Peak National Observatory, which houses 27 telescopes and is sure to transport you from southern Arizona to another galaxy and beyond.
Much of Tucson’s character can be summed up by its two most popular nicknames: The Old Pueblo and Optics Valley. A combination of old-world charm, best found in the El Presidio district, and modern commerce, Arizona’s second-largest city is as distinct as the landscape — a blend of desert and mountains — that surrounds it. Begin downtown, where a hub of fine food and nightlife, inspired by the University of Arizona located just blocks away, is sure to satisfy. There is a wide selection of entertainment options, including live music, sumptuous dining and excellent shopping. Meanwhile, outside the metropolitan bustle, an entirely different experience awaits. The Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum is home to an array of desert wildlife, including cougars, wolves

The event honored Houston’s Man of the Year, Mr Jim ‘Mattress Mack’ McIngvale, who was presented with a specially curated custom tartan by event founder Dr Geoffrey Carroll and cohost Peter Morris. The tartan is officially registered in Scotland as the McIngvale family tartan and can be passed on for generations to come. Notable attendees included rapper Trae The Truth, war hero and founder of the Lone Survivor Foundation Marcus Luttrell, Viscount William Garnock, Olympic champions Eve Muirhead and Carl Lewis, as well as Fox News correspondent Lea Gabrielle and British Counsul General Karen Bell. Check out local flavors on Lark Street, the epicenter of local bars, restaurants and lounges offering late-night entertainment, or see a band or dance troupe at The Egg, an eye-popping performance venue. Art aficionados have much to discover at the Albany Institute of History and Art, which houses prominent works by the famed Hudson River School painters. If sports are more your thing, catch a hockey, arena football or basketball game at the Times Union Center. May’s Tulip Festival is a must-see for nature enthusiasts, while the annual Alive at Five summer concert series delights music lovers every Thursday evening in June and July. In the past, the riverfront stage has hosted performances by nationally renowned musical acts such as The Fabulous Thunderbirds, James J.T. Taylor, and funk legend George Clinton and his magnificent backing band, Parliament Funkadelic.
History runs deep in Albany, the capital of New York State. One of the oldest surviving settlements of the original 13 British colonies, it was appointed the hub of political power in 1797 due to its integral role in the thriving fur trade. Take in the myriad historic sights in the Hudson River–perched metropolis aboard one of the vintage tour trolleys that run across town. Not to be missed are the 19th-century Albany City Hall; the 18th-century Federal-style Ten Broeck Mansion, which now houses the Albany County Historical Association, and its sloping formal gardens; and the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, the country’s oldest neo- Gothic building, completed in 1852. While few would argue New York’s heart resides within its namesake city, its nerve center is in Albany. Daily tours of the New York State Capitol, built in 1899, present a breadth of knowledge about the checks and balances of regional government. But the city encompasses more than just legislative

Object of desire
If you’ve ever stayed at The Savoy in London, you know all about how wonderful the cloud- like beds are. Savoir beds were first created for the hotel in 1905, and to stop competitors from buying the sumptuous beds, The Savoy bought the company. Throughout history, many famous characters have laid their heads on the handcrafted beds, among them Fred Astaire, Louis Armstrong, Marlene Dietrich and Claude Monet, who spent his mornings painting the sun rising over Waterloo Bridge during his many visits. Fittingly, Savoir has partnered with London’s National Gallery, and now any piece of art from its legendary collection of over 2,300 pieces can decorate a Savoir bed. Clients choose their desired painting, be it a Monet, Degas or Rembrandt, and Savoir prints the work onto fabric that is then upholstered onto the headboard and base. Customers can choose between lustrous velvet, textured linen viscose or classic cotton, as well as a number of finishes such as wood trim and an array of brass and upholstered legs. All commissions are approved by the National Gallery to uphold the integrity of the artwork, and each bed is meticulously handmade by artisans in Savoir’s workshops in London and Wales. Every small detail is considered, from the horsetail padding sourced from South America to the ‘star-lashing’ of the springs — a traditional (and painstaking) method of linking the springs by hand that stops them moving laterally. The mattress can be created to your exact comfort preference; especially handy if you have any tension in your body. Customize your mattress topper to minimize pressure points on shoulders and hips and help blood circulation, or even create one where one half suits your needs while the other half is perfect for your partner. Each Savoir bed is signed and dated by the artisan who fashioned it. Master craftsman Arjoon, who has been making beds with the company since 1987, still creates beds and has trained 40 artisans to maintain the high standards. From $17,000 for a king set (includes a No 2 Mattress and HW Topper). Contact James Harper, showroom manager, jamesharper@savoirbeds.co.uk, +44 207 493 4444, savoirbeds.com Sleeping beauty

FLOATING TIME
During the day, the moon hides beneath the movement
Ever since Cartier’s first mystery clock in 1912, the mysterious movement has been one of the jeweler’s specialties. This year, for the first time, it adds a day-and-night complication to a mysterious watch. And if that weren’t enough, the timepiece has retrograde minutes, too. At first glance, you’ll be pulled into the mystery of the dial and forget about time altogether. A rich brown ring encircles the outside of the dial, holding a half-disc of golden radiating guilloché and a sun that appears to float, hanging like the sun in our sky. As day slips away and turns to night, the sun disappears beneath the guilloché and the moon rises, starting its journey across the dial. It’s a romantic way to consider time, mimicking the heavens themselves. The watch splits hours on the top half, showing only 12 hours at once, and displays minutes using a retrograde function on the bottom half, which cleverly hides the movement and guards its mystery. The hand-wound movement has a 48-hour power reserve and is surprisingly thin, measuring just 10.7mm in height. Cartier Rotonde de Cartier Mysterious Day and Night watch, $66,500 in 18K rose gold, $71,000 in 18K white gold, available by appointment, +1 800 227 8437, cartier.com

The skeletonized movement lets you see the numbered discs slide into the apertures that indicate hole, number of shots in that hole and total score
Par for the course Forget scorecards and apps. Hublot is coming for your golf game with a new watch that allows you to count your strokes while out on the links. The cleverly designed Big Bang Unico Golf watch follows the design codes of a chronograph, but uses its pushers to count strokes and advance to the next hole. Each has golf-inspired elements — the pushers at 2 o’clock and 4 o’clock are shaped like putters, and the pusher at 8 o’clock is shaped like a tee. Click the pusher at 2 o’clock to count each stroke, and the pusher at 4 o’clock to move onto the next hole. The pusher at 8 o’clock resets the counters to zero at the end of the round and incorporates a fail-safe lock to prevent you from accidentally resetting your score, which might be tempting after a double bogey. The skeletonized movement lets you marvel at the innovative technology and see the numbered discs slide into the apertures that indicate hole, number of shots in that hole and total score. Its ultralight weight — just 97.93 grams — won’t interfere with your stroke, and Hublot’s partnership with Dustin Johnson, the world’s number-one golfer, ensures that it’s been vigorously tested and won’t become damaged during play. With this on your wrist, you’ll be the envy of your country club. Big Bang Unico Golf, $31,500, available at Hublot in New York, +1 212 308 0408, hublot.com
DPROFILE MORITZ GROSSMANN BRAN
Karl Moritz Grossmann, a founder of the Glashütte watch industry in the mid-1800s, is one of the many watchmaking giants to have the rights to his name acquired and used as a brand. So you would not be out of line to wonder what makes Moritz Grossmann watches special. First, the modern brand, founded in 2008, is based in Glashütte, the German town whose timepiece reputation now rivals that of the Swiss. Second, the modern manufacture was founded by a woman, CEO Christine Hutter. In the male- dominated watch industry, female watchmakers and executives remain uncommon, and to be both is rare indeed. After a career as a watchmaker and spending time at prestigious brands such as A Lange & Söhne, she purchased the rights toMoritz Grossmann with the intention of building a manufacture, developing and producing in-house movements, and creating timepieces with beautiful finishings and serious technical prowess. And the combination clearly works, as this year it celebrates its 10th anniversary with three fabulous watches that build on its history and look to the future. Available at Cellini Jewelers in NewYork, contact@cellinijewelers.com, +1 800 235 5464, A special anniversary watch, this unusual design suspends the petite caliber 102.0, measuring just 26mm, inside a 44.5mm case. The dial is a hand-cut relief engraving of the moon topped with two grand-feu enamel dials. It is held in place by four architectural struts, giving the impression that it is, in fact, lost in space. Limited to 26 pieces, $45,000 2. Tefnut 1001 Nights The asymmetrical case inMoritz Grossmann’s showstopping ladies’ mechanical watch was created with jewelry designer Michael Koh. The lugs are suspended on one side and topped with blue cabochons, and the asymmetry is matched in the radiant guilloché on the dial. The subdial at 3 o’clock features a beautiful desert landscape created with inlaid mother-of-pearl underneath a crescent moon. $39,000 3. AtumBackpage Continually celebrated for its beautiful movements, the marque listened to collectors and created its first watch with the movement visible on the dial, using a new caliber, 107.0. Essentially flipping and mirroring the Atum movement, it showcases the 2/3 plate construction, ratchet wheel with three-band snailing and an intricately decorated cantilevered balance cock. Limited to 18 pieces in platinum, $46,000 grossmann-uhren.com 1. Benu Lost in Space

There were plenty of somewhat-out- there trends this season. Menswear designers showed everything from short shorts to jumpsuits to extremely oversized pants and jackets. But to balance all of that out, designers also sent some beautifully wearable looks down the runway in earth tones of stone, sand, olive, tobacco and rust. Ralph Lauren, the master of American sportswear, layered a linen topcoat over a simple crewneck sweater and gabardine trousers for a tonal look that exudes effortless elegance. Brunello Cucinelli’s collection referenced Out of Africa with safari jackets and AU NATUREL
Alessandro Michele at Gucci has the unique talent of not only keeping his finger on the pulse of what’s cool, quirky and sometimes over-the-top, but also creating collections that are commercially successful across the globe. He’s not just building a collection each season, but building a community of Gucci devotees. We see his polished suiting gaining some more corporate fans too. Accessory-wise, stay away from black this season. We love these driving gloves from Hestra, briefcase from Christian Louboutin, olive suede Chelsea boots from Red Wing Heritage, and tortoise sunglasses from Tom Ford.
lightweight fabrics in colors that reflected the setting of the film. Boglioli did not stray away from what it does best: the lightweight blazer. This season it was unlined and came in an array of fabrics to suit any occasion. Miuccia Prada’s thesis for the season was “on one side is the virtual reality and on the other is the reality of the human part,” and comics and graphic novels played a key role in the collection. However, in the midst of all that fantasy, Mrs Prada also offered more realistic looks in neutrals such as camel and khaki with some pops of color — perhaps as a nod to Superman’s alter ego, Clark Kent.

Luxe luggage It might be difficult to pinpoint the exact moment when the glamour of traveling transitioned to bumbling discomfort. Maybe it was around the same time when sartorial choices favored tracksuits and sweatpants over elegant suits and hats, but that aesthetic has also trickled down into baggage that’s anything but elegant. Let’s buck the trend by hailing the return of refined luggage. Louis Vuitton spent two years to develop its Horizon Titane collection by Marc Newson, which it claims features the first genuine titanium case in the world. Typically reserved for the aerospace industry, titanium is immensely durable but can be incredibly difficult to shape, which perhaps is why it hasn’t been used in luggage before. Parisian luggagemaker Goyard returns to its roots with the Malle Armoire, a glorious steamer trunk with a rack for hanging items and separate compartments for accessories and shoes. Modern travelers will appreciate the contemporary design of Tumi’s 19 Degree aluminum worldwide trip packing case, which now comes in an ember colorway. If you prefer soft luggage, then Lotuff and Ralph Lauren have beautiful options. Lotuff took its signature duffel and crafted it in American alligator with a luxurious finish. It features an extended solid brass zipper that allows for easy access. Ralph Lauren’s Cooper 50 bag is an iconic silhouette made in Italy from vachetta leather and lined in suede.
