short-term orientation can help us understand why some cultures focus more on the future than the present. Power distance can help us understand why someone may have different expectations about who should be in charge. Finally, cultural dimensions can help businesses adapt their products and marketing to different cultural perspectives. For example, if a company wants to sell products in a country with a high collectivism score, it may need to appeal to groups rather than individuals in its marketing efforts. Organizational Culture and Job Satisfaction Organizational culture is the way in which members of an organization relate to one another,

to their work and to the outside world. 8 Just like national cultures, organizational cultures come from values and shared assumptions that are invented, discovered or developed as a group learns to cope with its challenges or its problems. Those values and assumptions are passed down to new members as the correct way to perceive, think and feel in relation to those problems. The right culture can be the reason an organization succeeds or fails. A manager may not understand the importance of organizational culture, or they may not acknowledge that they have one culture while their workforce has a different culture. Indeed, culture clashes between management and workforce can be a source of frustration and discontent for one or both parties.
