Central to the showroom update is a custom-designed oval medallion crafted in collaboration with Czar Floors, a multiple Wood Floor of the Year award winner, and a manufacturer known for its precision and design innovation. The medallion features eight wood species: maple, ash, American cherry, pear, white oak, kempas, merbau, and wenge. It was installed within a compact rectangular section of the room and framed with a wenge strip. The layout also incorporates a reverse perspective mitered pattern of clear maple and ties into a prior Czar Floors criss-cross design that already was part of the space. The intention was to honor the original layout while elevating the visual impact. Czar Floors provided detailed digital design files and precise installation instructions to support the complex layout. These tools helped the installation team achieve a clean, accurate fit for the medallion, seamlessly integrating it with the existing floor. The flooring arrived unfinished, requiring sanding and three coats of finish, each applied with a lambswool applicator. The process required both technical precision and careful coordination to ensure that every element aligned with the room’s existing flow. This is the second time M P Caroll Hardwood’s showroom has been recognized with a Wood Floor of the Year award, with the first win dating back to 2014. The repeat recognition underscores the company’s consistent focus on excellence and its ability to evolve without compromising craftsmanship.
