Gilbert, Arizona

During the period of time prior to Gilbert’s incorporation there was a financial depression, America was involved in World War I, and an influenza epidemic killed many United States citizens. A number of those who died in Gilbert are mentioned in the family histories of our early settlers. Representing men from Gilbert who served our country during World War I is Jake Sanborn, shown below.
