Fulshear-Katy Community Guide 2024-25
Although The WellPet Center is larger than many other veterinary clinics, the staff is passionate about the connection they maintain with clients and the care they provide for their pets. With nine practicing veterinarians on staff, they have the flexibility to squeeze in urgent visits and surgical procedures to get patients the care they need in a timely manner. Each of the doctors brings a special skill set, and while they all work regularly on dogs and cats, a few of them also see more exotic animals. It’s not at all uncommon to see a bunny, hamster, or hedgehog in the clinic, and just recently, there were even a couple of little kangaroos. Goats and sheep are also quite common sights. The WellPet Center works diligently to stay on the cutting edge of veterinary medicine, offering doctors who specialize in dentistry, dermatology, and even laser therapy. If a pet needs more specialized care, two board-certified specialists are available to come into the clinic for more extensive procedures, diagnostic imaging, and orthopedic surgery. Grooming is another important service offered at The WellPet Center. “Grooming is also an important aspect of properly caring for your furry family members, especially long-haired dogs with hair that can become easily matted, which can be painful and lead to skin infections,” says Dr. Aswad. “We are happy to have two very skilled groomers on staff who will take the time to listen and discuss grooming options for your pets.” As members of the family, it just makes sense that we as a society want to provide our pets access to the best healthcare, grooming, training, and boarding services, and it is clear that the Fulshear-Katy area has some great options available.
pharmacy, as well as surgical and radiology suites. “The WellPet Center continues to evolve with veterinary medicine. With pets more frequently being treated like family members, owners continue to want to do more for their pets when they do become sick,” explains Dr. Cynthia Aswad, the hospital’s Associate Veterinarian since 2013. “We at The WellPet Center are always learning new skills and treatment options to be able to provide the best and most up-to-date medicine for your furry family members.”
in addition to, of course, the families and their dogs, is how much I have enjoyed working with the local canine rescue organizations to help train and place dogs with their forever families in Katy. ”The WellPet Center, located on FM 1463 in Cross Creek Ranch, is also family-owned and operated. The original office, which opened in 2012, was about 1,800 square feet. The facility has now grown to over 10,000 square feet, including a comfortable waiting area, five exam rooms, a grooming suite, an in-house lab, and a
