coronavirus pandemic. Policymakers and central banks worldwide are raising interest rates in an attempt to tame inflation and slow down economies. According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, consumer price inflation stood at 3.2 percent in July after aggressive interest rate hikes, as compared to the 9.1 percent recorded in mid-2022.
