Amerant Bank’s Martin Appointed as FBA’s Rep. to Citizens’ Market Accountability Advisory Committee
M Marshall Martin, executive vice president and chief legal officer at Amerant Bank, has been appointed as FBA’s new representative to the Citizens’ Market Accountability Advisory Committee (MAAC). Martin is an experienced attorney and banking professional who will bring a unique and important perspective to the committee. The group meets
quarterly and the FBA’s representative is responsible for providing a perspective of the banking market alongside other industry representatives. Martin will work with the FBA as our eyes and ears to make sure that the association addresses Citizens’ banking or insurance issues. The FBA thanks previous appointee Obdulio Piedra for his service from 2021-23.
Sanibel Captiva Community Bank’s Kaduk Honored by Cape Coral Chamber
S anibel Captiva Community Bank’s Rachel Kaduk was honored at the Cape Coral Chamber of Commerce’s 2024 Chairman’s Gala and Excellence in Business Awards on February 9. The event recognizes sponsors, volunteers, board members and trustees through its chamber awards and includes its annual induction ceremony.
Kaduk, a residential lending team member, was named a Chamber Champion. A chamber board member and trustee since 2021, she has held various chamber positions, including Community Engagement Committee member, Leadership Cape Coral chair, Government Affairs Committee co-chair and chair.

United Southern Bank Launches New Community Trust
U nited Southern Bank’s Trust Department has announced a new community trust endeavor. The Sunshine Community Trust will support local community and charitable organizations through the stewardship of generously donated funds. The first fund has been designated in support of educational causes. The Sunshine Community Trust celebrated its launch this week with a grant to Lake Technical College. This inaugural grant establishes a scholarship fund that will provide tuition assistance to deserving students in good academic standing as they pursue quality technical degrees and certifications. DeAnna Thomas, President of Lake Technical College, said, “We are honored to receive this grant from United Southern Bank’s Sunshine Community Trust. The college’s primary mission is to be an integral component of the economic growth and development in our communities through high quality training opportunities and this funding will allow greater access to training for local students. We look forward to this continued partnership as we work together to make a lasting impact in our communities.”
