SHARK KINGDOM 3D AT THE TENNESSEE AQUARIUM IMAX THEATER

From drifting alongside Oceanic Whitetip Sharks in the South Pacific to intimate encounters with reef sharks in the Bahamas, the film captures sharks in their natural element— graceful, powerful, and essential to the health of our oceans. Filmmaker Matt Tomaszewski describes the thrill of bringing sharks to the IMAX giant screen: “There are a lot of details in terms of their behavior and also their physiology that you don’t get to see on a normal TV screen. To be able to show the grandeur and detail of some of these amazing creatures on the giant screen was really exciting.” His hope is that viewers will leave with fresh eyes— seeing sharks not as menacing silhouettes, but as vital guardians of the marine ecosystem. Each species featured in Shark Kingdom 3D has its own story to tell: great whites roaming the wild coasts of New Zealand, whaler sharks adapting to life alongside Australian fishermen, blacktip reef sharks slipping between Tahitian mangroves and the open sea. Through sweeping visuals and immersive storytelling, audiences discover how these “super senses” allow sharks to thrive—and how our futures are linked to theirs.
