DISCOVERING CHATTANOOGA’S WATERFRONT

THE NIÑA & PINTA ARRIVE THIS OCTOBER

Nina’s captain Stephen Sanger spoke about the importance of educating guests during their visit. “The Niña and Pinta replica Ships provide a unique educational opportunity for the communities we visit and provide schools with a learning tool where we bring the classroom to life. We give children of all ages a greater under standing, perspective and appreciation for how different life was back in the 15th Century. Convenience was rare. The Chattanooga community has always been welcoming to us over the years and we hope to make it a stop for years to come, so future generations get the opportunity to walk aboard living history,” he said.

The two ships, which tour together as a sort of floating muse um, will be docked at Ross’s Landing Pier beginning October 18. This is a wonderful opportunity to step back in time to explore the Niña and Pinta! The ships are available for self-guided tours from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. daily. Tickets are available for purchase at the dock. Teachers and organizations may arrange a 30-minute guided tour for groups of fifteen or more by visiting ninapinta.org/tour/html or calling 251-293-4193.
