THE KOHINOOR SUITE THE OBEROI UDAIVILAS, UDAIPUR, INDIA
Spread over 50 acres of land that once belonged to the Maharana of Mewar, Oberoi Udaivilas has 20 acres dedicated to a wildlife sanctuary. The resort has the look and feel of a Mewari palace with domed pavilions, landscaped gardens and palatial interiors decorated with mosaic and hand-painted murals. The 2,650-sq-ft Kohinoor Suite in particular feels like an Indian royal residence, with a private courtyard, ornate arched doors leading out to a patio and a pool lined with frangipani trees overlooking Lake Pichola. Inside, the two bedrooms and living area are adorned with colorful detail, fine textiles and hand-carved marble. When you’re not out marvelling at Udaipur’s temples and forts, treat the family to afternoon tea on the hotel’s boat. From$14,950 per night. VI LLA ROSE JW MARRIOTT VENICE, ITALY
JWMarriott Venice is set upon its own private island in the Venetian Lagoon, and its most luxurious suite, Villa Rose, offers exceptional privacy due to its surrounding gardens. The secluded villa was built in the Romanesque Revival style, with bright contemporary interiors seen throughout three bedrooms, lounging and dining areas and a kitchen for cooking as a family (or being cooked for), plus a wooden deck and pool overlooking the gardens. You can easily explore Venice from here, but there’s plenty to do on the island too, from cycling around the parkland to making Venetian cuisine at Sapori Cooking Academy. Pets are welcome — be sure to meet the hotel’s puppy, Maximus. From $5,000 per night. Contact Enrique Tasende, general manager, enrique.tasende@jwmarriotthotels.com, +39 041 852 1300, jwvenice.com
THE MARK PENTHOUSE THE MARK, NEW YORK
Bold design and a playful spirit give TheMark its distinct identity, but we love the family-friendly, bespoke experiences available. Take a ride through Central Park in a Mark Pedicab, have a picnic prepared by resident chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten or see New York Harbor aboard the Mark Sailboat . The Mark Penthouse isn’t listed on the hotel’s website, so you’ll only hear about it through us. Spread across two floors, this 12,000-sq-ft, five-bedroom apartment offers an oasis above the city, with a skylighted pavilion and 2,500-sq-ft roof terrace overlooking Central Park. French interior designer Jacques Grange injected modern grandeur into each room, from the 24-seat dining room to the living roomwith grand piano.
