Beach dining

inspired by the tropical island atmosphere, complemented by a comprehensive wine list. Executive chef Glen Roberts ambitiously advocates the head chef’s focus on using the island’s own farm-to-table fresh produce, which results in a delicious menu with a subtle touch of cultural elegance. Fresh fi sh is available daily, along with the Alphonse farm and forest harvests.

RELAX Azure Spa

Creole style, combining thatched roofs using local materials with polished screed fl oors and open wooden beams re fl ecting a fresh island style. Soothing interiors by Andrew Irving and Mario Rodrigues bring the remote island setting inside using nature inspired art, and chandeliers, with splashes of tropical colour throughout. Overlooking perfect beaches lapped by the turquoise Indian Ocean, sea fl ats and protected coral reefs, the Beach Villas are surrounded by tropical scenery. There are four spacious double bedrooms per villa, all with luxurious island-style, en-suite bathrooms and outside shower areas. Large, light- fi lled, open-plan living and dining areas include a fully equipped kitchen and lead to a sun deck and private plunge pool. A private chef can be arranged upon request to create tailor-made menus for in-villa dining, and both villas include their own golf cart. Each Beach Villa sleeps up to eight adults and four children.

Petite, intimate Azure Spa boasts just one circular treatment room with two large, comfortable massage tables and an adjoining bathroom. Its decor is inspired by the relaxed, carefree vibe of Alphonse Island. The Azure Spa is a blissful sanctuary for the senses, and o ff ers a variety of massages, beauty treatments and therapies. One popular massage that is available on request is the Sea Sand Poultice Massage. The softest sand, taken directly from the beach at Alphonse, is then wrapped in a soft cloth to form a poultice which is then dipped in pure, warm, melted coconut oil and used to massage the entire body; it is a full-body massage that targets weary muscles through deep tissue massage, rejuvenating the body and mind.
