Set sail with Octopus The ocean holds volumes of mystery that await uncovering, and there’s no better way to explore than on board one of the largest yet most elusive superyachts in the world: the late Paul Allen’s Octopus

On board Octopus , guests can tread the same ground as oceanographic explorers who utilized the ship to search for shipwrecks and maritime artifacts. With the yacht’s new owner keen to continue her legacy of discovery, guests can spy ocean views in the observation lounge, examine marine life through a glass-bottomed aquarium, and delve into a fully equipped dive center before retreating to a therapeutic hyperbaric chamber.

Owned by the late Microsoft co-founder, Paul Allen, Octopus is a 414-ft megayacht that is available for charter for the fi rst time since her launch in 2003. Though renowned as one of the largest superyachts in the world, up until her sale in 2021 she had remained exclusively private, with few images of her interior ever shown to the public. Since joining the Camper & Nicholsons charter fl eet in 2021, Octopus has accommodated guests for a two-year global voyage tour that began in January 2021 and is due home in late February 2023. The tour includes stops in various regions within Central America (including Costa Rica), Fiji, Mexico’s West Coast, and the Solomon and Marquesas Islands, with Antarctica topping o ff the journey at its end. With an ice-class hull, two helipads, a huge toy list including seven tenders and electric foils, the Espen Øino-designed Octopus facilitates adventure from land to sea. In 2023 further adventures await aboard this limitless yacht as she will venture into the Mediterranean and be available for charter from late May 2023 (until she undergoes her 20-year survey in October).

Octopus further invigorates the body with an onboard swimming pool, gym and wellness area, while a cinema, DJ station, piano and library are available to stimulate the senses. Not forgetting taste, Octopus enhances the serene sensuality of her environment with a plentiful food o ff ering that includes extensive dining options and multiple poolside bars — all with tranquil ocean views. Octopus houses up to 12 guests across her three spacious decks, and her inventive interior design, by celebrated superyacht designer Jonathan Quinn Barnett, creates a convivial atmosphere perfect for enjoying quality time with family and friends. The luminously open-plan master suite features an observation deck and hot tub, and additional lodging includes two VIP apartments, seven double bedrooms and three twin staterooms. Each room, colored by the spines of extensive book collections, is sensibly furnished and decorated with carefully curated art. Charter from $2.2m per week.
